The Muchachos announce new Board of Directors
The Muchachos Inc., the 501(c)(3) non-profit parent organization of the Muchachos Drum and Bugle Corps and the Amoskeag Sound, a competitive mini-Corps has elected a new Board of Directors in compliance with Internal Revenue Service regulations.
Albert H. Gagne, current Corps Director, was elected as a Director and Chairman of the Board. Gagne is President of Al Gagne & Associates, Inc. an aerospace consulting firm. Arthur Sullivan, a Principal in Brady-Sullivan Properties; Roland Lemire, retired former owner of Rheault Photography; Armand Forest, retired police officer, former Manchester Ward 12 Alderman, and a current member of the NH House of Representatives; Rev. John W. Fleming, Pastor of the Parish of the Transfiguration; and Judy Aikens, a Medical Administrator and long time member of the Muchachos, were elected to terms of one to three years.
Achieving IRS 501(c)(3) status will allow the Muchachos to seek tax deductible support from the community at large. They have been described as one of Manchester’s treasures and, in addition to performing throughout the New England/New York area, have established education programs for both music and performing arts. As an all-age Corps, potential members aged from 14 to retirement are welcome.
The Muchachos also host an annual Drum Corps International competition, bringing Corps from both the USA and Canada, along with their fans, to enjoy the wonderful efforts young people who devote their summer to performance excellence.
